SidCity Gets a Facelift

By  |

It’s been a couple of years since we last revamped SidCity.net, an epoch in Internet time, and much has changed on the technical and functional side of building websites. Today we reveal the latest incarnation of Alexander Siddig’s official fansite.

Most of the changes have occurred “behind the scenes” and may not be obvious to visitors. We’ve kept the same exclusive graphics, but now can more easily include graphics from Sid’s projects, appearances, etc. The updated theme is also more streamlined and should load faster, plus it gives us flexibility to add new features – like easy access to our Twitter and RSS feeds, and the ability to highlight not just new posts but also popular posts and comments.

We’ll be continuing to add new features and update content (like the out of date Projects section!) over the next few weeks. And of course we’ll be sharing the latest news as Sid heads to Toronto for the world premiere of Inescapable next week.

Let us know what you think of the new design, and what features you’d like to see in the future!

Mel started a fan site for Siddig in 1996, as a way to learn HTML and to promote his charitable endeavors. In 1998, he proposed that it become his official fan site; she quickly agreed and a long-distance friendship was born. You can reach Mel at mel[at]sidcity[dot]net.
