STRIKE BACK: ORIGINS airing on Cinemax in the US {PHOTO}

I’m a bit late posting this – had my dates wrong – but Cinemax is currently airing Strike Back: Origins, the original 6 episodes that aired in the UK, starring Richard Armitage and Andrew Lincoln. The fifth episode premiered last night, co-starring Alexander Siddig as the mysterious Zahir Sharq.

Here’s the official synopsis for the episode:

On the heels of a suspicious friendly fire attack on U.S. forces, Porter is sent to Afghanistan to uncover the source of an encryption breach in missile navigation. The search leads him to Gerald Baxter, a former technical-support contractor with CIA ties who orchestrated a bombing that accidentally killed civilians in Iraq years ago, and disappeared after being diagnosed with PTSD. Now allied with the brutal rebel leader Zahir Sharq, Baxter outs Porter in Sharq’s desert fortress as Collinson, meeting with the CIA’s Frank Arlington in London, tries to work out a deal that will not lay the blame on the encryption breach on the British.

Curt over at Red Eye Chicago also has a nice preview of the episode, along with a couple of videos and some photos.

If you have Cinemax, you can catch repeats of episode 5 throughout the week. Sid also guests in episode 6, premiering Friday, November 29 at 10/9c on Cinemax. Strike Back: Origins (aka The First Season) is also available on DVD and Blu-ray.

Mel started a fan site for Siddig in 1996, as a way to learn HTML and to promote his charitable endeavors. In 1998, he proposed that it become his official fan site; she quickly agreed and a long-distance friendship was born. You can reach Mel at mel[at]sidcity[dot]net.
