While Sid is not pictured in promotional stills released for the next two episodes (he will appear in five of this season’s six hours), BBC did release two stunning new portraits of Sid as Ruben.

PEAKY BLINDERS: First Look at Alexander Siddig + Premiere Date Mon, 25 Apr 2016 21:34:43 +0000 The wait is nearly over, Peaky Blinders fans! BBC Two will premiere series 3 of the period gangster drama on Thursday, May 5 at 9PM. According to the official site, Alexander Siddig makes his first appearance in the premiere.

Official synopsis:

It is Thomas Shelby’s long-awaited wedding day. In the middle of the celebrations, a mysterious visitor imperils the entire Shelby family, and Tommy finds himself pulled into a web of intrigue more lethal than anything he has yet encountered.

Is Sid the “mysterious visitor”? From the promo still of his character that was released, it certainly looks that way.

Sid is listed in the credits as playing Ruben Oliver. He appears in this image with Helen McCrory who plays Polly Gray, the matriarch of “the family”, at the wedding mentioned in the description. She doesn’t seem pleased to see him, no?

Peaky Blinders premieres Thursday, May 5 at 9PM on BBC Two. Series 1 and 2 are currently available on Netflix.

GAME OF THRONES: First Look at Alexander Siddig in Season 6 Thu, 21 Apr 2016 23:00:39 +0000 With just three days until the premiere of Game of Thrones season 6, HBO released a slew of new promotional stills including our first look at Alexander Siddig as Prince Doran Martell.

When last we saw Doran, he was (allegedly) disapproving of Ellaria’s plans for revenge against the Lannisters…right before Myrcella Lannister dropped dead on the ship taking her back to King’s Landing. In this image – possibly from the season premiere although it might be from the season’s second episode – Ellaria appears to be explaining herself to Doran. Could it be that Ellaria’s sinister plot was sanctioned by Doran all along?

Game of Thrones premieres Sunday, April 24 at 9/8c on HBO during their free preview weekend. To see more photos from the episode, visit Winter Is Coming.

GAME OF THRONES: Sid Back in Spain for Season 6 {PHOTO} Mon, 19 Oct 2015 23:50:37 +0000 Production on Game of Thrones season 6 has been underway for more than a month, and it appears they are finally ready to return to Dorne. A fan ran across Sid and his Dornish cast mates having a meal in Almeria today, and manage to keep it together long enough to ask for and post a photo on Twitter.

The photo shows (L-R) DeObia Oparei (Areo Hotah), Indira Varma (Ellaria Sand), Rosabell Laurenti Sellers (Tyene Sand), George Georgio (Razdal mo Eraz) and Alexander Siddig (Doran Martell) along with the lucky fan.

The GoT fandom is in a tizzy because Georgio’s presence means the return of his character, who last appeared in Season 3’s “The Bear and the Maiden Fair” when he tried to bribe Daenerys to pass his city. Read more about the significance of this here and here.

DA VINCI’S DEMONS: Behind the Scenes Look at Sid in Season 3 Thu, 03 Sep 2015 19:33:11 +0000 Akin Gazi, who plays Bayezid on Da Vinci’s Demons, gives us our first good look at The Turk in season 3 via an Instagrammed a photo of himself with Alexander Siddig and Stewart Scudamore in costume behind the scenes (looks like they just took a tea break).

The Turk looks a bit more disheveled than usual, perhaps because season 3 focuses on a war with the Ottoman Empire as the Ottomans attack Rome with da Vinci’s own weapons.

Da Vinci’s Demons returns for its third and final season on Saturday, October 24 at 8/7c on STARZ.

Star Trek Las Vegas: Oodles of Photos of Sid + Andy Robinson, Chase Masterson, More Thu, 03 Sep 2015 12:00:38 +0000 This post is very late coming, and for that I apologize! I actually attended STLV this year, my first time ever, and fully intended to post a report and photos as soon as I returned home. Alas, life. But my lack of timely posts is actually a benefit because now I also get to share a slew of photos from the lovely Peggy Stewart!

Sid was part of a DS9 Q&A panel on Sunday morning of the convention. He was joined on stage by fellow DS9’ers Andrew Robinson, Chase Masterson, Marc Alaimo, and Casey Biggs. With that many people on stage, and just an hour to talk, we didn’t hear a lot from any one person. The moderator kept the conversation flowing, asking Sid about Game of Thrones (he couldn’t reveal anything from season 6, other than that Prince Doran will be there), and questioning the other guests about their current projects.

During the audience Q&A, fans asked Sid questions about how many people Bashir kissed (“Uh…three?” “I counted six.” “Bashir was desperate. And forgetful.”) and whether the rumor that Sid’s uncle, Malcolm McDowell, was interested in guest starring on DS9 but only if Sid directed the episode (“Wow. No. I’ve never heard that one before, but…no.”).

Autograph signings followed the Q&A, with the guests seated at tables on either side of the stage. In a first from my experience, they signed while other people were on stage for their panels. The lights were lowered in the ballroom with each guest given a small lamp so they could see what they were signing. Fans weren’t allowed to take photos, but I took a few from my vantage point assisting at Sid’s table. The man signed for two solid hours, smiling and conversing with the last person in line just a genuinely as he did with the first. That’s a rare talent!

Below are photos of Sid and the other DS9 folks on stage, courtesy of Peggy, along with a few from the autograph session. Enjoy!

TUT: Meet High Priest Amun {VIDEO} Tue, 30 Jun 2015 17:24:51 +0000 Here it is, our featurette introducing Alexander Siddig as High Priest Amun in Spike’s upcoming miniseries TUT!

In the video below, we learn more about Amun, who Sid says he doesn’t think “is intrinsically evil, but he’s really good at it when he wants to be.” He is certainly a master at manipulation, but to what ends? A clue: The photo above, from Spike, is captioned “Amun preaches against Tut.”

TUT premieres Sunday, July 19 at 9/8c on Spike.

Alexander Siddig Talks GoT, DS9, and When He Felt Like a Real Actor {PHOTOS + VIDEO} Mon, 18 May 2015 15:12:45 +0000 Hunger TV just published a terrific, multimedia interview with Alexander Siddig. The video includes answers to a variety of questions, from how he was cast in Game of Thrones to which other character he’d like to play to his favorite scene this season.

In the print interview, Sid talks about the differences between filming Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Game of Thrones; which project finally convinced him that he’s an actor; the changes in the TV landscape; and much, much more. Here’s an excerpt:

When you left drama school you started working as a director. Is it true that you fell into acting accidentally?
I fell into acting back when there were no Arabs anywhere. There really weren’t. In 1990/1991, someone hired me to do a TV series because I was the only actor with an Arabic name in their mid twenties. The only other person at the audition was a mini cab driver who had answered an advert; he wasn’t an actor at all. That’s how desperate they were; they were putting ads in the papers. Acting paid in a way that directing never did. I always thought I was going to direct, I still thought I would until I was about 40, and I’m 50 now. I thought acting was just a temporary job and that eventually I’d get to do what I wanted to actually do. I wasn’t serious about acting. It was when I made a movie called Syriana I realised and I was an actor; that was how people saw me. There was no point trying to swim upstream.

New photos by Jack Buster round out the feature. Watch the video Q&A below, then head over to Hunger TV for the full experience.
