EVERYONE: Hey Sid! Welcome Sid! Etc.
Sid: Phew! Am I late??? Am I late?
Christy: Late as usual Sid.
Sid: course I am.
Gayle: Sid late? Never! <g>
Sid: Hi everyone :))
Helen: Hi Sid from me and Donna (here in spirit)
Christy: How many times has your computer beeped, Sid?
Sid: hehe - you guys can type waaaay faster than me
Christy: Mwah-ha.
SlinkyJ: I took lessons in high school
Kada: Hi Sid from Kathy & David
Helen: Hope you had a good birthday
Mel: 30 against 1, Sid, you're in trouble. ;)
Ku: Just a little.
Christy: Run, Sid, run!
SlinkyJ: Happy birthday from me, too.
Sid: Thank you - I had a wonderful b-day
<Sid discussed his current project with us, but due to its sensitive nature, he requested that that information not be posted yet.>
Christy: Well, I have a question if I can jump in...
Sid: jump...
Christy: Joo and I are best friends and I'll be visiting her in England after Christmas. Can you recommend a few places we should visit?
Sid: How far are you prepared to travel in the UK?
Christy: Hmm, well, we'll be on the south coast.
Sid: hmm - lemme think about the tourist thing for awhile :)
Christy: Okay, thanks.
Helen: I'm always on the south coast near Chich! Ha ha
Davo: Portsmouth is quite historic same as Chichester
Sid: Helen is def a good place to visit
So.Central: Have you ever been to Australia or Singapore, Sid?
Sid: Aussi - yes
Davo: Where are you at the moment Sid?
Sid: I'm at home in Sussex listening to "classic VH1" on the TV
Manda: That's an awesome channel, Sid.
Sid: It's great mental stimulus answering to three threads at the same time.
Gayle: You're doing well Sid...this is confusing!
Christy: Just keeping you on your toes!
Sid: But it's past "wine" time here and the mind is getting foggy. :)
Eaglesnest: Red or white? :)
Sid: Red :)
Eaglesnest: Chardonay or merlot?
Sid: Chateau Plonk
SlinkyJ: I only know two words in German
Roxi: Not that I can speak Germany anyways
AstroGal: *doesn't speak German*
Manda: I know like one word, which is sad because I'm mostly German
So.Central: Everyone thinks I'm German because my last name is Gerber.
Sid: Ahhh
Brianna: Baby food!
Manda: Gerber baby
Sid: ;)
Roxi: Yeuch peas!!!
Christy: Hey, what do you have against peas?
Joo: Peas?
Manda: Peas are nasty.
Ku: ... I've missed something.
Roxi: Long story, ain't gonna go into it.
Brianna: Mushy peas! ;)
Helen: Cheesy peas
Sid: So.....next!
Davo: Squeezy cheesy peas
T_Min: Peas?
Christy: Enough with the peas.
Sid: Mushy peas are not for the fainthearted.
<And then we moved on, thank Heavens>
Gayle: Are you doing any building projects around the house? Any Home Depot visits?
AstroGal: *perks* Home Depot...the MOTHER SHIP!
Sid: Haha - no Home Depot - My shed is full of water during the rain
So.Central: Sid, there's a rumor going around that Rick Berman would like you to appear on Enterprise. Would you?
Sid: Rick tried to get me on Enterprise a few months ago, but I couldn't be found. :)
SlinkyJ: Guesting or directing?
Sid: Guesting, I think.
Manda: That'd be cool.
Mel: Would you consider directing on Enterprise, Sid?
Sid: I wouldn't direct.
Sid: My Star Trek time is over - unless they come up with something irresistable. It gets a little samey after awhile.
T_Min: Cross your fingers for something irresistable!
Sid: I would like to see them dare to hire some new designers and a new crew for a whole different approach.
Kat: Planning on doing anything special for the holidays, Sid?
Sid: I'm not sure - special would be visiting Django, but I'm not sure what my schedule is yet.
Christy: How old is he now?
Sid: 7
Manda: How's Django doing?
Sid: He's doing great! All 3's and 4's in his report (whatever that means)
Manda: That means good!
SlinkyJ: I think that's good.
Sid: I hope so
Gayle: It means he's brilliant...of course!
Michele: Django's 7! Time has flown!
Sid: Time has flown, yes.
Manda: Wow, he's 7 and doing better than me.
Christy: Grades don't matter in the long run, right, Mandy?
Manda: Right, Christy!
Sid: Grades don't matter...unless you're doing them
Manda: So what if I'm failing Math, it's not that important
Sid: I agree - it's very important to fail Math
Christy: Django has not seen Calculus yet, bless him.
JoanMarie: Gee, I thought Calculus was fun...
Mel: *chuckle*
Sid: Hehehe
Marie411: What about acting? Does Django want to do this too?
Sid: Nope. :)
Sid: Does anyone have a burning question? I'll try to notice it.
Mel: Sid, I have a question from Georgeann who can't be here:
Sid: OK - fire away
Mel: She's from Canada and quite enjoys watching shows like SPOOKS. She wonders if you're up for filming anything in Canada.
Sid: Nope, no plans to film in Canada.
Cyn: Do you remember what your first thought was when you stepped onto the Promenade? Which was an awesome place to see BTW.
Sid: I remember being in a surreal environment.
Kat: If Django wanted to pursue acting as a career, what advice would you pass on to him?
Sid: Make a living first
StephinKY: I just wonder if you feel like being known soooo much as a Star Trek actor bothers you? Some actors seem to think it's a thing to be ashamed of.
Sid: I don't have a problem being known as a ST actor. I'm extremely lucky I think, to have landed on my feet at 24. Gives me a chance to stop and breathe.
SlinkyJ: Sid, ever have plans to do anything in the States? Guest star on other shows, like "Judging Amy"?
Sid: I don't really enjoy working in the US at the moment. I love the US, but the quality of the stuff I get to see is low.
Mel: Do you find that there are more opportunities in the UK?
Sid: Yes - UK is better for me right now
Brianna: Why is UK TV better? I don't get to watch it other than what's on BBCA.
Sid: UK TV isn't better, it just looks better "before" it gets made. It has a political conscience, like "West Wing". A lot of US TV is great. I'm just not in it. :)
Brianna: It isn't great because you're not in it. I get it. ;)
Sid: Thanks Bri. :)
Just_Curious: If you weren't an actor, what would you do for a living?
Sid: Hmmmm...I would probably be something equally silly, jc.
Just_Curious: :-)
Tammy: I have a question
Christy: Go Tammy go
Sid: Yeah, go.
Tammy: What is the weirdest thing you've ever autographed?
Sid: Umm...that would be breasts.
Tammy: Guess I'll have to top that
Christy: Is there a genteel way to do that?
Sid: No. But she was modest enough to try to keep herself as covered as possible.
Helen: You still have the bunnies, right, Sid?
AstroGal: Bunnies?
Mel: Bunnies?
Sid: Chickens and a pig atm
Mel: Farmer Sid.
Sid: They were all gifts over the years.
Davo: It isn't a pot-bellied one, is it?
Sid: No
Mel: People give you livestock as gifts?
Sid: They used to. :)
Marie411: Sid, do you have to cut your hair for your new film?
Sid: No, I have a beard.
T_Min: NO! Why do you always have beards?
Sid: Beards is what they want...I have no choice
Tammy: At least you don't have to shave.
Sid: The guy I'm playing has an Uber beard
Mel: Uber beard! It's a new SidCity phrase!
Ku: Heh...Sid said Uber
Christy: Can I ask what music you listen to, Sid? It's an old question...
Sid: Listening to all kinds of music at the moment
Christy: Example?
Sid: Wild Horses - the Stones at this time
So.Central: What was the last concert you went to?
Sid: The last concert I went to was whatshisname Newman
Ku: Randy Newman?
Sid: Yes. In LA.
Manda: My mom wanted me to go to a David Cassidy concert and I was like, "are u kidding?"
Sid: David Cassidy is a rock god
Cyn: YES!! Sid!
Sid: John Lennon, Bowie, Cassidy...
Cyn: Other than the shower, Sid, do you sing?
Sid: I sing really rarely.
Just_Curious: Sid, do you cook?
Sid: I do cook.
Gayle: Yes, he does!!!
Manda: What about Slovenski food? That's always good.
Sid: All kinds of stuff. I love a guy called Jamie Oliver atm - brilliant recipes
Mel: The Nekkid Chef!
Sid: Yuppers
T_Min: You try Jamie's recipes?
Sid: Yes - all the ones I tried were great
Brianna: Plans for Thanksgiving?
Sid: No Thanksgiving here
Brianna: Too bad
Sid: Just saving for xmas
Gayle: I think Thanksgiving is an American holiday.
Sid: Yes, it is.
Sid: We Brits are not grateful that you kicked us out of the U.S.
Marie411: Sid, if you could choose, in what sort of movie would you like to play the main character? Thriller, love story, agent movie...?
Sid: I think I'd love to be in a romance, if I had a choice.
SlinkyJ: YES!!!
Mel: Uh oh...the ladies all just swooned.
Christy: Oh a romance. That would be lovely.
T_Min: Who would be your favorite co-star?
Sid: I like to be surprised by that one.
Christy: Kiera Knightley? Except she's, what, sixteen? ;)
Gayle: 17
Christy: I was close.
Sid: That would be a little young.
Mel: I think she's 18 now, Gayle.
Sid: No offence to any 17's here :)
Brianna: <- 17
Sid: I think you're safe, Bri. ;)
Sid: If I did a romance - it prolly wouldn't be a teen flick.
Christy: Thank God for that, Sid. They annoy the s*** out of me.
Sid: :)
Ku: Romantic-comedy, Sid? Or something more dramatic?
Sid: atm - drama is more interesting to me
Brianna: What about something like "Love, Actually"?
Sid: I haven't seen it
Christy: Something along the lines of "The English Patient" perhaps?
Ku: *swoons* Ralph Fiennes
Sid: :)
Dee: No, I can't keep up. Happy birthday, Sid. And best of luck getting a word in edgeways.
Sid: Thx dee
Roxi: Sid, we're arguing this in class - who owns creative rights to a film? Writer, director or anyone else working on the film?
Sid: Producer owns the rights in the US. In the UK - sometimes the writer owns them.
Mel: Sid, older bro has another question: he's a gamer and wonders what games you're into.
Christy: Do gamers own chickens?
Sid: I always return to Ultima Online - I try everything and then go back
Mel: He's into Call of Duty at the moment.
Sid: Cool
Ku: What about board games, Sid?
Sid: I enjoy some games - makes me popular with my children
Kat: What board games do you play with your kids?
Sid: I play erm...we're done with Candyland, thank goodness. I look forward to Risk - still too young.
Ku: Scrabble?
Sid: Junior Scrabble. Nothing really beats Game Cube for the boys. Either that or something physical outside.
T_Min: Q: How old are you at your oldest memory?
Sid: T_Min?
T_Min: Yes?
Sid: Didn't understand
Ku: Didn't understand...I think he's officially a Sid Citizen now.
Sid: :)
T_Min: When you remember your first memory, how old were you? Like, you remember eating cake as a child...clearer?
Sid: Ahh! 2?
T_Min: 2??? Wow, that's early!
Christy: What do you remember?
Sid: Wild stuff happened
Michele: Weren't you still in the Sudan then?
Sid: Yes
Brianna: I remember one from 3...
T_Min: I guess, mine goes back to 3...
Davo: Mine's about 5, just barely
Roxi: A few months old and I ain't kidding...
Sid: Nice, Roxi
Christy: I'll have to go soon. Sid, any ideas on what to visit in England yet?
Sid: Brighton is great fun, but save money for clothes shopping.
Christy: Oooh, clothes? Really?
Sid: They have the best cheap designers there.
Chris has left the chat. [again]
Chris has joined the chat. [again]
Sid: wb Chris
Christy: Again, Chris
Ku: Poor Chris
So.Central: What do you miss most about living in the U.S.?
Sid: My boy.
Sid: Actually, I miss the smiling faces in the U.S., too.
<insert lots of smilies from Sid Citizens here>
Ku: Yes, we smile because we actually have no idea what's going on
Sid: We don't smile so much in the UK for some reason
So.Central: I've never been to the UK
Sid: UK is wonderful
Christy: It is wonderful.
Chris: The love in this room is too much for me.
Sid: hehe - On that note guys - I think I'm gonna bail
Ku: Awwwwww
Brianna: Aw
Sid: It's gettin' kinda latish
<insert lots of "byes" and "thanks" from Sid Citizens here>
Sid: Let's do this again if that's OK. I'll get the hang of it. Really was my pleasure.
