There is a new Youtube video for DS9 called "White and Nerdy DS9"

I don't know how to create a link, as I'm 'technologically impaired' as Weird Al would say w00t.gif

But if you go to Youtube and type in "White and Nerdy DS9", you should find it.

It's funny! w00t.gif with scenes from "Trials and Tribbleations"

Thanks for the link, charmedgirl! I hadn't seen that.

I don't know exactly why they chose that song... none of the DS9 characters are both white and nerdy! lol.gif Some good matching of audio and video beats, though, especially at the beginning.

(As the person who did a Garak/Bashir vid to Barbie Girl, I maybe shouldn't criticize others' song choices too hard...) wink.gif

This isn't new, but I missed it when it came out. This was the winner of Creation Music Videos of 2005 and deservedly so. It's Armin Shimerman as "Master of the House". It's wonderful! I've always loved this song and it's perfect for Quark.

That was you???
That was so funny-I love that song! I have some ideas for you because of my inability to do them myself:

Episode "Blaze of Glory" to Bon Jovi's "Blaze of Glory "
" "Fascination" to Human League's (Keep Feeling)Fascination
Scenes of Star Trek Villains to Inner Circle's "Bad Boys"

Thank you that, it was interesting ! not sure about the white and nerdy bit in DS9, But the orginal Star Trek, was a bit white and nerdy by todays standards, it was the first first TV that had the vision to portray all humans throughout the globe whatever their skin tone was.

Have you seen these videos "Bashir/Torres and "Alexander Siddig" these are good too!

Yes, I have-they're my favorites. Now whenever I hear Avril Lavigne's "When You're Gone", I think of Alex! wub.gif

Yeah, that was me. smile.gif I'm glad you liked it. It was my first, and probably only, vid. I might do more someday, but it was really more an experiment than anything.

I don't know if I'd be capable of the ones you suggest--I don't know the songs at all. I'll see if I can find them in iTunes or something, see if anything springs to mind with them. smile.gif But your best bet is probably to suggest them to a more experienced vidder.

Compared to me, you ARE more experienced.

Is there anyone else who could make these videos?

I'm not very heavily into the vidding community, but I know that several fans have their own videos up on YouTube. You could try searching for 'ds9 fan trailer' as well as 'ds9 video'. If you ask nicely, they might be interested in cooking something up for you.

There are a couple of reasons why I'm reluctant to do it myself. First, I don't know the material--I'm not very familiar with those two episodes and I've only heard a little snippet of the first two songs once, when I went to listen on iTunes. To actually make a vid in a sane amount of time, you have to know the song and be able to think of clips to match the beat and lyrics. That's why I think it would probably be a lot easier for you than it would for me--you obviously know the songs and the episodes well, otherwise you wouldn't think of matching them.

Second, you have to like the songs and episodes. The songs especially, as you'll be listening to them over and over and over and over... you get the idea. smile.gif As you check to make sure the clip is trimmed to fit and matches the beat and lyrics, you have to hear the song a lot. Judging by the clips I heard on iTunes, the songs in question would drive me around the bend pretty quickly. (I already strongly dislike "Bad Boys".)

I really think that it's worth trying for yourself, especially since you have some starting ideas. When I started the Barbie Girl video, I had absolutely no experience making a vid. I'd watched some good fan videos and some not-so-good fan videos, so I knew what I should be shooting for and a bit about what to avoid. I knew Garak and Bashir's scenes and the song well enough to be able to quickly find the clips I wanted. I used free software to rip episode segments (DVD Decrypter and AutoGK, using instructions at http://forum.videohelp.com/topic301015.html ) and I used Windows Movie Maker (built into Windows XP) to edit the clips and music together and save the whole thing.

I would have thought that having all scenes with Leeta would have been good for Barbie Girl

That would definitely work. smile.gif With Bashir and/or Rom representing the man's voice in the song.

I used Bashir and Garak in my vid as a bit of a tongue-in-cheek send-up of bad slash. And because I actually do have a rather sad/scary liking for the song. lol.gif

laughing1.gif It's funny-when I see Julian in Trials and Tribbleations, he looked like the early Ken doll from 1961 laughing1.gif
