How can anyone forget to mention Transformers? This has to have been the best movie of the summer, definitely beats The Simpsons anyway! I am looking forward to its DVD and IMAX releases.

I loved this movie! You know, I was so looking forward to the new Harry Potter movie because I'm a huge fan, and when it came out I loved it. However, if you ask me what the movie of the summer was I'd have to go with Transformers. I knew what to expect with Harry Potter, but with Transformers it was a complete surprise. I was not going to see this movie at all. I wasn't interested. Then I saw the trailer online and I couldn't resist. I was on the edge of my seat the entire movie! It was the best ride this summer! I saw it twice.

I also loved the songs that were featured in this movie. I downloaded a lot of them until I get the chance to just go out and buy the soundtrack.

By the way, for those who don't know, the DVD comes out October 16th.

I saw it twice too! I've only ever once done that with a film before but that was because a couple of my friends hadn't seen a certain film, with this one - it was totally my choice! biggrin.gif

I'm getting the DVD for my brother's birthday (20th October, turns 29), we grew up with Transformers in the 80s so this was a real treat - especially for my brother because he was a mega fan of the series when we were kids. If anything, out of all the boys animations from the time, Transformers had to have been the best...right up until the movie that came out in '86. Sigh and it was going so well, poor Optimus Prime...poor fans! sad.gif

Oh returning to the topic of the 2007 movie, to add excitement to the whole thing, IMAX are bringing it to their screens for a limited time from September 21st 2007 - there are even going to be extra scenes! (Roxi is near to screaming with excitement! jumpy.gif ).

If you go to their official Transformers movie site they've put about three soundtracks from the film (and some added on the side) for your listening pleasure while you surf the site. Just click on the left side of the screen where it says 'soundtrack' and it'll play the following:

Linkin Park - What I've Done
Goo Goo Dolls - Before It's Too Late
Mutemath - Transformers Theme

The one by Mutemath is quite catchy, at first I wasn't too taken with it since I was so used to the original tune but it grew on me - nice modern take on it! If you haven't listened to the original theme tune from the animated series that will be well worth a listen. smile.gif

Thanks, Roxi! I downloaded the Linkin Park song ( I keep playing it over and over again!) and I snagged the Disturbed song too. Havent' been able to get the Mutemath theme yet. I might just go ahead and purchase the soundtrack anyway.

See I didn't grow up with the Transformers, but my oldest daughter did and it was her excitement that fanned the flames of interest in seeing this movie for me. Then I saw the trailer and I knew it was a must see.

Did you hear that they are going to make another one? 2thumbs.gif

Similar thing happened with my mum - although she knew of it because of my brother's obsession with them when we were kids, she never really knew much about them. Then when she saw the trailer it completely blew her away, usually she isn't into that many sci-fi films so this was a rare moment of awe for her! The whole family enjoyed it loads, my brother and I loved it so much we went again by ourselves and the whole family's planning to see it again at IMAX. biggrin.gif

Oh yeah, I definitely heard there's another in the pipeline - bring it on guys! jumpy.gif

It was inevitable that there was going to be a sequel the way the film ended! This makes me very happy though, loved the film, was also a huge fan of the original cartoons, so I could never stay away from the film version, I'm glad it was so good!

Ps, I have to agree with you Roxy about the torture scene to Bumblebee brought a tear or two to my eyes too!

Saw it in IMAX for my brother's birthday on Saturday, money well spent! I can honestly say it looks amazing on the huge screen, if you haven't seen it on there you must - there are those extra scenes too which won't be on DVD! My favourite extra scene is listed in the spoiler below.

I definitely want to go see it again in IMAX, it's only on for a week and a half now - so get your skates on and get on down to IMAX before it finishes!
