No, Colin Firth wasn't on "Veronica Mars", but he was the subject of conversation in three scenes. Seems the teenagers were watching "Pride and Prejudice" on DVD to avoid having to read the book. Then one of the teenage girls claimed to have met Colin at a party she'd attended as another actor's date.

The whole conversation on TV seemed so odd coming a day after I read what Sid wrote of working with Colin. Veronica is pretty sure the girl is lying because knowing Colin would just be too cool. laugh.gif

Just out of curiousity was the BBC 1995 production with Colin Firth ever shown overseas?. What is also interesting is that the new Kira Knightly version of P & P has Mathew Macfaddan in the role of Mr Darcy who co stared with Sid in Spooks.

I don't know if it was in wide release over here. Maybe it was shown in art houses that tend to show foreign films. Anyway, it seems to be available on DVD now. It would be interesting to know how many teenage girls dashed out to rent it after watching "Veronica Mars." I always like to see Sid's co-stars get a bit of positive publicity. Any additional tickets sold to see "The Last Legion" will be that many more people who get to see Sid!

This version was shown here, that's where I first saw it. It wasn't in theaters but it was on for a week when it first aired on A&E.

The BBC's miniseries airs on our cable channel A&E from time to time still...I suspect when they want to boost their ratings. biggrin.gif I've had it on DVD for a few years and watch it 2-3 times a year.
