I received this news from Rene's club. I don't know if it will affect any of you.

This is the sort of e-mail that, for some of you, will fall in the category of "I've got some good news, and some bad news."
The bad news is that Rene has had to pull out of several of his upcoming planned convention appearances. As of today (Oct. 21) he expects that he will NOT be appearing at:
Chiller Autograph Convention, New Jersey, Oct. 24-26
CruiseTrek trip on the Danube, Nov. 8-15
Vienna, Nov. 12
Budapest, Nov. 15
He still hopes to make it to the convention in Riccione, Italy, Nov. 21-23, but that may not work out, either.
If any of you were looking forward to attending any of the above, Rene sends his apologies for the last-minute change of plans. Regarding the convention in Italy, he will let me know as soon as *he* knows what's happening with that, and I'll pass along the news as quickly as e-mail will allow.
The hopefully "good news" part is the reason he has had to withdraw from those events: he has to stay in Los Angeles to be available for filming the final two episodes of Boston Legal! He just learned that David E. Kelley wants to use his character, Paul Lewiston, in one or both of those episodes, which are scheduled to be filmed approximately Oct. 27 through Nov. 14.
This is a classic example of the clause included whenever actors agree to do conventions, which states that they may have to cancel their appearance if "other professional obligations" interfere. Rene honestly thought that he was finished with Boston Legal, and free to do these other events, but that has proven not to be the case.
That's all I know at the moment; I'll keep you posted of further developments!
