I know I'm not the only one who likes to do this sort of thing! You all know who you are! Let's see 'em! I'll show you mine if you show me yours.

P.S. Can anyone tell me when and where the picture was taken?

Sure, it's from the Star Trek 30th Anniversary in September 1996. If you're looking in the Gallery, you want to go to page 2 of the Parties section.

Looking forward to them. You've done a beautiful job!

Thanks so much.
Doesn't Sid look rather thin in them? And in
Syriana? Ye gawds, if he looks that thin through the eye of a camera, he must be skin and bones in person. Oh, dear

He always looks thin. But for me he looks perfect in every pic/movie.
And I agree, nice wallpapers.

I really like the Through Space and Time one, but if I may suggest, an emerald green background may give this one a slightly softer appearance.

Thanks everyone! Actually, Colibri, the blue was not my choice of color. It was a background I had already made that when I played around with filters and styles, it changed the color to blue, so blue it must stay for now. Thanks for the suggestion. I will definitely play around some more with another background I have to see if I can't get it to a green and see how that looks. I think I'll wait till I get my new monitor this weekend. The one I'm working on now is an old one we had laying around and the color is all off on it. I can't change it either. Everything has a rose tint to it. It's aweful really!

These are great, you've got a real talent there MrsJack! I'm in two minds about downloading them though, not sure how much work I'd ever get done with all of my screens minimised so that I could check out my wallpaper all day....

I agree, it's by far my favorite.

Nothing could be better than a handsome gentleman on a horse.

Thank you Mrs. Jack, for my new desktop picture. Normally I wouldn't have Sid on it, but this is a work of Art!

(Which makes it an exception, but now I'll have to rearrange my icons.

) Thank you once more!

Bec
P.s I really think the background brings out Sids eyes
mrsjack
Aug 29 2006, 08:25 PM
Thanks, Bec! As a matter of fact, the tutorial was all about retouching the eyes to bring out some depth as well as smoothing over the face a tad. The tutorial was scanned from a magazine one of the mods at ka-Bloom.org. Since it is in a thread that is hidden to visitors, you won't be able to see it if I provided the link, but I will ask her if I can copy it over here, if you like.

Wow, really great. How did you make the second one?
mrsjack
Nov 18 2006, 06:45 PM
Naddel, I placed that picture of Sid over the stock photo of the monitor, skewed it in Photoshop and erased the background on Sid's picture. The orange, swirl design on the monitor was already there and I liked it, so I left it there. I blended the background of the monitor photo with my own background made simply with a gradient fill. I just kind of smooshed them together in a swirly motion. That's it!

Sounds not very difficult when you have the right program. I tried to make such wall's like you but I failed everytime. Maybe I should try to use Photoshop too.
