"24: The Ultimate Guide," written by Michael Goldman.

I haven't read this book. I would like to know if it's worth buying. I found a picture of the book's index online that has Sid's character, Hamri Al Assad, listed on five pages. That might mean pictures and detailed descriptions, or it might mean just brief mentions of his name. It's a 144 page hardcover that retails for $24.99. I can get it for $7.95. My bookshelves are overflowing and I don't want this book adding to the clutter if it's not worth it. So I would like to know if any of you have read it, and, if you have, what are the Sid/Assad parts like? If nobody responds, I'll probably just reluctantly go ahead and order it. That is if it doesn't sell out--it's a clearance item.

If you buy it but find it's not worth keeping, then just eBay it.

I'd be interested in seeing this book. I've been trying to discover exactly which episodes of 24 Sid appears in so that I don't have to download the entire season. Sorry, but, I can't stand that show and only want to see the episodes he appears in.

Well, I got the book. It's a really nice book. About 12 inches high and 10 inches wide and about half an inch thick. As it says inside the cover, "This guide is packed with information about 24's thrilling plots, characters, and locations, plus hundreds of amazing stills from the show--". Lots and lots of pictures taking you through the first six days (seasons) of the show. And the text is broken up into not-very-long paragraphs that go with the pictures, so it doesn't get tedious to read. You can go through this book really quickly. There are great descriptions of the characters, except for--you guessed it--Sid's character. The book has three pictures of Sid as Hamri Al-Assad. Two of the pictures are very small. One shows him with Jack just after they've escaped from that house where Jack first found him. The second picture shows Assad standing at the podium where he was going to give his speech. The other picture is larger but still not very big. It shows Assad standing face-to-face with President Wayne Palmer. The description that goes with this picture contains this sentence about Assad's fate: "Ironically, the man with so much blood on his hands, Al-Assad, saved Palmer's life by putting his body between Palmer and the blast." Nice that the book at least gives that much credit to Assad for what he did. I don't think it was ever acknowledged on the show, was it? Assad's name is mentioned in passing in a couple other places in the book. And that's it.
