Did anyone catch the recent episodes of Neighbours (a guilty pleasure of mine) DS9 got mentioned and with it being the 20th aniversary of the show we were shown a lovely flashback of the many actors who have starred in the show and just how fantastic to see Guy Pearce Jesse Spencer and Russell Crowe in some of their earliest tv outings.

Ahhh the memories.

Neighbours as in the Australian Soap Opera? Wow, it is popular isn't it? What is it you like about it? And what do our accents sound like to you? I'm really curious to know. I've heard some brits do impressions of Australians but it didn't sound Aussie at all.

As for Neighbours, where are you up to in Neighbours? How's the Izzie situation. You know, I have a teacher who is the spitting image and personality double of Izzie.

Hello Lexx. bye1.gif

Sorry this has taken so long to reply. I think we are just coming up to the storyline involving the plane crash.

I must admit to enjoying hearing differing accents and to me Australian always makes me smile when i hear it.

Neighbours is broadcast twice but I tend to catch the 5.30 broadcast while I am a meal. The show is far from rocket science but I will admit to enjoying a broad TV output.

By the way just how good was the final episode of Lost last night (UK broadcast) must tune in to find out what is in the hatch.

All the best

Neighbours is an Australian soap opera that has been going for 20 years and actors such as Jesse Spencer (House) Guy Pearce (L.A. Confidential) and Russell Crowe (Gladiator) started their careers there.

Don't forget Kylie Minogue and Delta Goodrem!

*giggle* The plane crash was a couple of months back I think. We've got a hurricane that just happened. And SOMEONE WON'T MAKE IT! ~.~

Our accents can be terrible. But we city folk and people from the east tend to have more british-ised, american-ish accents. While "Westies" from Western Australia (It's a state) have broader... more bogan accents. We ridicule them.

Naddel, "Neighbours" was shown on German TV a long time ago. But I can only remember watching it with my grandmother so they must have stopped showing it around 1991/1992. I have no idea why or if it was ever repeated.

There is even a german fansite: link
