Pothos had a question about Sid handing out roses in 1998, so I thought I would answer it here on the chance someone else might be interested in the back story.
This was our San Diego "Weekend on the Promenade". Each of the people who helped put on the event was given a silk rose and a kiss from Sid. Because I'd been in charge of both the merchandise table and the auction, I was given an entire bouquet. Photo one was all I had to commemorate the event. Friends would tease me, "That could be ANYBODY!"
When Gayle forwarded the club archives to me, I found one of me taken just afterwards. This is clearly a just-been-kissed-by Sid expression!
On my trip home, obviously I couldn't PACK a bouquet of flowers, so I carried them. The second leg of my flight was cancelled (I have terrible luck with flights) and I carried that bouquet around the Detroit airport for FOUR HOURS. Of course I still have it.
