I recently found Star Trek Integrity by pure accident.
It's a role playing game with a difference, instead of using established charactors, you get to write your own, which is great practise if you like to write your own Trek related fiction.

Already am, I'd like to introduce you to Ensign Naomia Black (although on the mannifest I have been listed as Naomia Smart), my charactor is part Human (Father) and part Cardassian (mother). Naomia is a 27 year old female nurse, awaiting arrivel at her new post aboard the USS Revolution.

I've never done an online RPG before... but I've always thought the idea sounded fun
I'm generally pretty frightened of online commitment. Still, at worst, I could always quit and have my character die in some impressive blaze of glory

So, I guess, why not (you doing it makes me want to try it even more ).

Well let me know if you decide to join, maybe you could be a friend from the acadamy days.
If you do join will your charactor be Human or from another planet? (for some reason i think you could write a good Bajoran).

A Bajoran would be fun but there are already several in the crew. In fact, most of the main DS9 races had already been grabbed. And if you go by the Star Trek formula, you shouldn't have repeat aliens unless there's a reason for it (e.g. Bajorans on a Bajoran space station) I think I'd make a better script writer than gamer

I figured everything out for my character, though. If approved, they will be a J'naii (those genderless aliens from TNG) named Llonan and a Science Officer. I was really tempted to a Breen--they'd just be so fun--or some other DS9 race, but I decided on my idea because of its instant conflict. It shouldn't take very much effort to make something interesting out of a J'naii.

I think your character--a part human, part Cardassian--was a great idea My character will be something of an outcast, unhappy with their homeworld's government, etc. Our characters should get along perfectly. If you'd like them to be academy pals, that'd be great! Maybe we could even do a few joint posts now and then I think character interaction is the most interesting part of storytelling (and probably role playing)... So I think that'd be a lot of fun

I was going to be a full Cardassian, but I decided that being half and half would be more interesting.

Girls, I'm re-opening this thread to ask if you happen to know what happened with ST: Integrity... ? They pulled the site down just when I thought of joining the med-squad. So I'm wondering if the haitus would be temporary or for good.

Not sure at all but I will dig out some old contacts and see if I can find out.
I know when I joined in 06 they had a high turn over so maybe too many people left.

Personally I left a few weeks after posting the information up here as I found the USS Reniassance which, to be blut IS better anyway (Tony is not too picky).

That's one of the reasons why I am a teeny bit wary (still) about joining role-playing games and other social type stuff. Because everyone else has a habit of losing interest just as I'm really getting into it and that make me sad. (a bit.)

I see what you mean to be honest in the 2 years I have been with the Ren I think we have lost the total of 2 players.

One beacaue he is/was working to gain a PhD and the other due to a death in the family.

We are all pretty obssessed (not the best word I know) and love the work we do there.

The only issue with the Ren that I can think of is that we are limited to the number of (played) characters we can have and that limit is three.

Come to think I need to talk to the mods regarding one of mine as I have a new character I wish to bring in but I don't want to have to write any of my ones out so I am going to see if one of them can become an NPC (Non played character) that way if I need to I can still pick her up and play with her every now and then.

Finally did you hear anything back from Tony or Angela (aka Stella)in regards to kids on the ship? I know now that Tony has been away of late but I was not sure if he had gotten in touch.

Hi, I have to admit, and I am very VERY ashamed (<- see?), that I still haven't send my intro to Angela, BUT I have completed it and altered it a little bit. I promise to send it this week.

Thank you for the concern. I'm sure she will need a lot of counselling help as she will probably be forced to leave her kids with a friend on Trill. So I guess we will surely write some joint, just when I get into the spirit of things - I have never done and RPG before. But I have found the messages of the Renaissance, so I already started reading.

Ah well there's no rush I know Tony has been away from the board anyway and Angela has been tied up with work.
So your character has friends on Trill?
That is cool, I have a Trill character too so maybe she (I am assuming it is a she) will get on well with Mika Tarka too.

My concellor is currently in the brig but that will be explained later.

haha works for me. "Obsessed" is great! Have been "obsessed" (I do mean really obsessed not just a passing fancy) with one thing or another ever since I was two.

And yeah I reckon if ever I were to get involved in something like that then it would have to be with a bunch of people who were pretty obsessive about it.
