DA VINCI’S DEMONS: The Turk Returns as Leonardo Meets Vlad the Impaler

By  |

The Turk, played by Alexander Siddig, returned to Da Vinci’s Demons at the end of last week’s episode with a stunning revelation about the vision of the cave plaguing Leonardo. In this week’s episode, “The Devil”, he promises Leo answers to the questions that haunt him – including what happened to his mother – and sends him on a quest for The Abyssinian, the man who can decode the secrets of the map Leo discovered. The catch? He’s being held by a vicious warlord known as Vlad the Impaler. AKA Dracula.

That’s right, Leonardo da Vinci meets the infamous Dracula in his quest for the Book of Leaves. It’s the least romantic version of the alleged vampire I’ve seen, and reinforces my distaste. No sparkles here, folks.

In other storylines, Lorenzo seeks an alliance against Rome; Giuliano gathers information in his mission to discover the spy in their midst; Lucrezia reports to the Pope; and Clarice hopes to conceive a male heir to carry on the Medici name.

Da Vinci’s Demons airs Fridays at 9/8c on STARZ.

Mel started a fan site for Siddig in 1996, as a way to learn HTML and to promote his charitable endeavors. In 1998, he proposed that it become his official fan site; she quickly agreed and a long-distance friendship was born. You can reach Mel at mel[at]sidcity[dot]net.
