Find out who Alexander Siddig plays in DEEP STATE season 2

By  |

Last year Alexander Siddig filmed a role in the new season of Deep State, airing on FOX across Europe and Africa and on EPIX in the United States. Details on his role have been scarce, but with season 2 set to premiere April 28 on EPIX and in May on FOX, we finally have not only a character description but a photo!

According to FOX, Siddig plays Issouf Al Moctar, the 50-something Tuareg leader of armed independence group who is fighting for the emancipation of his people from a discriminatory regime. He is the furthest thing from an Islamic terrorist but will end up finding himself portrayed as one. As Siddig told us, he speaks three different languages in this role, none of them English.

Further information about the season from FOX reveals that Siddig’s character is part of a storyline involving George White (Alistair Petrie), a senior MI6 agent and Amanda Jones (Anastasia Griffith), a CIA operative.

Viewers can catch up on the first season of Deep State before the season 2 premiere via EPIX NOW, the network’s new streaming service available for download in the App Store for iPhone, iPad and Apple TV and in Google Play for Android phones and tablets.

Mel started a fan site for Siddig in 1996, as a way to learn HTML and to promote his charitable endeavors. In 1998, he proposed that it become his official fan site; she quickly agreed and a long-distance friendship was born. You can reach Mel at mel[at]sidcity[dot]net.
