WATCH: Sid City at Destination Star Trek London

By  |

As mentioned previously, the Sid City Social Club had a presence at Destination Star Trek in London last month. Our monthly Friday meeting was a hybrid version with Socialites gathering in-person at a pub in London and the rest of us logging in via Zoom (that meeting will be posted later).

Then on Saturday morning, we were part of DSTL proper with a panel titled “Sid City Social Club: How Alexander Siddig and the Fan Community Changed Lives in the Pandemic”. Alexander Siddig and I appeared via pre-recorded video while live participants included Andrew Robinson and Nana Visitor plus Socialites Rob Moriarty and Mallory Knipe. The panel moderator was Colin Kerrigan.

We were allowed to record the panel and, thanks to Rob, we can now share it with you! Settle in for 45 minutes of conversation about the social club and what it’s meant to folks around the world.

Mel started a fan site for Siddig in 1996, as a way to learn HTML and to promote his charitable endeavors. In 1998, he proposed that it become his official fan site; she quickly agreed and a long-distance friendship was born. You can reach Mel at mel[at]sidcity[dot]net.
