Sid City Social Club 2.0: New Schedule, New Content

By  |

The Sid City Social Club is evolving! As Sid heads out to start work on Shantaram, the Apple TV series filming in Australia and Thailand from May-December, we are moving to a new schedule and format.

Beginning May 1, the Sid City Social Club will meet the first Tuesday and third Friday of each month at the usual times. Sid’s participation is not expected due to filming commitments but he may turn up on occasion. We’ll try to give folks a heads up if he’s going to be there. Instead, these meetings will consist of special presentations by club members, chats with special guests, and other activities TBA.

In addition to the above twice/month meetings, we plan to host a “pop-up” meeting with Sid once/month as his schedule allows. We will provide as much advance notice as possible for pop-up meetings via the SCSC page, the newsletter, Twitter, and Facebook.

The community we’ve built through the SCSC is an incredible, vibrant entity that we hope to maintain for a long time to come. Thank you to everyone who has been part of it this past year, no matter how large or small your perceived role. We look forward to the next iteration, SCSC 2.0!

NOTE: Pending changes in travel plans, Sid will be joining us as usual on Tuesday, April 27 and Friday, April 30. Tuesday will be regular programming; Friday we’re hosting a Q&A for The Big Battalions with screenwriter Hugh Stoddart.

Mel started a fan site for Siddig in 1996, as a way to learn HTML and to promote his charitable endeavors. In 1998, he proposed that it become his official fan site; she quickly agreed and a long-distance friendship was born. You can reach Mel at mel[at]sidcity[dot]net.
